Disturbing Recording Shows Point Officers Suffer Blade Attacks in Surprise Attack

One senior officer who jumped to the aid of a colleague that was assaulted by a knifeman has been awarded the King's Commendation for Courage.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown following he held a weapon to the neck of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist subsequent to a vehicle incident in that location in mid-2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.

"Officer knifed," the constable stated over his radio.

Officer-mounted and vehicle camera video released by the police department revealed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a head covered, rush to Sgt Foster from behind with a knife extended.

He struck the policeman who tripped and fell to the ground, before Sergeant Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the floor even though being multiple times hit with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a clear shot, bringing the fight to an end.

Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "Please provide assistance on my throat now, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sgt Ansell sustained multiple lacerations to his neck and further cuts to his limbs and torso, whereas Sergeant Foster suffered slash wounds.

Authorities reported Sergeant Foster employed his hands to stop his fellow officer's bleeding prior to medical personnel reached the scene.

This most recent award follows subsequent to the three officers received organizational Bravery Awards in fall 2023 and the police federation award from the local union branch in spring 2024.

They were also awarded a North West Courage Honor in July 2024.

"The efforts of the entire team eventually protected one another and meant no members of the public endured any wounds."

Brown received a sentence to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, per the department.
